The excitement is real. I know I'm a bit late on the wagon (...as always), but last week I got an e-mail from MAC saying: 'hey, free shipping for your first order!' and I said: 'well... okay'. So, I picked up MAC Heroine and the famous 217 Blending Brush
I wanted to hug the postman when he arrived with my parcel, but there are things called dignity and personal space, so... 
I have to admit that I was really worried that the parcel wouldn't arrive (Italians out there: the courier is SDA. They're not my favourite - read 'til the end to find out why).

Anyway, I'm writing this post because I want to share with you my experience with the site. The few opinions that I read about it aren't that positive, but I wanted to give it a try anyway, mainly because the nearest MAC Store to where I live, well, it's quite far away. 
This only goes for people who live in Italy and don't have a MAC Store near where they live, and want to try the online service. The only thing that I think goes for everyone in Europe, is that orders are shipped from Germany.

  • 03.08 | At around ten minutes to midnight (late night orders are the best) I ordered my products and soon after I received an order confirmation e-mail. You're also supposed to receive and e-mail once your order's been shipped*. Orders can take up to 3-5 business days to arrive;
  • 04.08 | *well, it doesn't happen. I knew that it wouldn't happen, because the same thing happened to other people. If you want to know if your order has been shipped, go on the website, log in, and then check the status of your order there;
  • 05.08 | I sent an e-mail to the service client because I didn't receive my tracking number yet. First, the people from the service client are the kindest and second, they told me that I would receive my tracking number once the italian courier had my parcel;
  • 07.08 | It's 1am and I do receive two e-mails (I wasn't waiting for them, I had just got back from the cinema and I was wide awake). Mail n. 1 is from SDA which says something along the lines of "We inform you that the shipment by ESTÉE LAUDER has been entrusted to SDA" - I panicked a bit, then I remembered that Estée Lauder owns MAC. In this mail you can also find your tracking number and see, on the courier website, where your parcel is. Mail n. 2 is from MAC, in which they say that SDA has your parcel and they also give you the tracking number;
  • 07.08 | 1pm, my MAC order is here! I didn't take photos of the package at its arrival because the excitement was real, but everything was inside a plastic bag from SDA. Once you open it, there's the black box from MAC and the items are wrapped in thick black paper. There's also the return form. 

At the end of the day I'm satisfied with the service. The only two negative things are: the fact that they say they'll send you an e-mail when your order will be shipped, then they don't and... the courier. This time I had no problem with them, but they're known as 'the ones who don't ring the entryphone' (yep, it happened to me and others) and 'the ones who deliver the parcel to the wrong adress'.
