Les Vernis à L'Huile

Nail vanish is a must for me, I need to see my nails coloured, otherwise I'd feel naked. I know, a bit dramatic.

Essie's nail vanishes are by far my favourites, but since it's really hard to find them here, I had to find an alternative to them. L'Oréal recently launched these Color Riche Les Vernis à L'Huile  (= oil nail polish): there are 22 shades and the main feature about them is that they are infused with oils. What kinds? "Rose, Lotus bloom, camellia seed, argan".

The brush is pretty wide and covers the nail easily. I usually apply two thin coats and sometimes three. I had no problem with the application and the polish glides on like a dream.

This one looks opaque after three thin coats and it reminds me of Essie Fiji!

I do apologize for these close-ups of my pale face (paler than it actually is). The main character of this make-up look, as you can probably tell, is the lipstick, which is the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Transylvania. Since I got it I probably wore it twice, because it's quite hard to apply: it goes really stripy on the lips and once it has dried out it accentuates the lines on your lips. But I decided to give it a go (again) because it's a gorgeous colour.

4 Recent Beauty Purchases

This is my first actual 2017 blog post. Woo-ooh, how exciting! You all probably know that it's sales time, and people are now going crazy in the shops, desperately looking for bargains.

I joined the mass a couple of days ago and went to Mac and Sephora (and other shops, of course) where I bought some beauty bits. From Sephora, I got a new Beauty Blender since my old one is ready to go into the bin. The bright pink colour is washed out and it has mascara patches on the bottom (I have no idea of how it happened).

From Mac I, of course, bought new lipsticks. The nude one is Honeylove, which is a light beige toned w/ rose (really similar to Yash). Then, Chili, a brownish orange-red (a friend of mine said that it's a granny shade...) and Chicory lip pencil, a soft muted peachy-brown, which I'll pair with Chili.

Christmas Scented Candles // ❄

I love candles, of course, but especially Yankee candles. I've collected quite a few in the last two years, but I've never done a post where I show you the Christmassy ones that I own!

The ones in the little jars came in a set and I like to light them up all together.

Christmas Eve // it has a warm hearth, sugared plums and candied fruits. Fragrance notes:

The excitement for Christmas is getting real. Since Christmas is all about the glitters and the sparkle, I thought that this NYX palette, with its gold and green, was perfect for this look.

Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics: The Review

When Urban Decay announced that they were releasing a completely matte/neutral palette -all shades are new and exclusive to it-, I knew I had to get it. I think their eyeshadows are the best out there - the blendability and staying power are impressive. I already own the Naked Basics and the Naked 1, so I knew I was going to love this one as much as I love the two that I already have.

Volume is the key. The Maybelline Lash Sensational is my by far my favourite.

3. What kind of coverage do you prefer from a foundation?

Light to medium coverage.

3 Drugstore Products I'll Always Repurchase

It's hard to find good drugstore make-up products, we all know that, but it's not impossible. Here are three drugstore make-up products I know for sure I'll always repurchase.

The Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer is irreplaceable. I've tried many concealers in the past, but this is the one: it covers up my dark circles and illuminates the eye area like a dream. This up here in the photo is my second tube and for only 8€ you get such a good product. 

I tried for the first time the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara around this time last year. It is often compared with the Benefit Roller Lash mascara (which I've tried and hated it), but it has a bigger wand and it costs 10€, rather than 26€. And works better.

My lashes are naturally long and curved, but I'd like them to be fuller: this, my friends, combines all the three together. 

Last but not least, the Maybelline Brow Satin eyebrow pencil. Of course, I'd never replace my beloved ABH Dipbrow Pomade, but there are days where I can't be bothered to do my eyebrows. One side has the retractable pencil and the other side has the filling powder.

A bit late, but I wanted to post a little something because today is my birthday! Woo-ooh! I'm 22 today and yes, I've been listening to 22 (you know who this song is) allll day. Well, happy birthday to me!

Red Roses

I believe in love at first sight. It happened when I saw this pair of jeans on the Pull&Bear website, a couple of weeks ago. So, of course, I went straight into the shop a few days later /worried that I wouldn't like them, as it often happens/ and I found them, I tried them on and I bought them. 
They're mom jeans, with roses patches here and there. I love, love mom jeans, even if they make your hips look wider, but who cares?
