February Favourites | 2015

Surprise! Look who's here! Yes, me. I'm still here. Breathing. This week's been... pretty busy. One of my pets didn't feel really good and this influenced my mood, and a friend of mine came here from London, so we were pretty excited to see each other. Anyway! That's enough talk, here are my favs of this month.

Sunday, Good Food & Birdman.

My adorable mom made baked pasta today and I wish I could eat it everyday because it's the yummiest thing in the world. For dessert, we had pastries & cookies - from my favorite pastry shop. 

That fluffy thing is Eva, my guinea pig, and she was sleeping on a cushion. I think she thinks she's a cat... or a dog... 

Then I went to the cinema with my dad and we watched Birdman. Amazing. I loved it!

Spring is Coming.

My mom came home with a little box of strawberries, this afternoon, and that only means one thing: spring is coming. Even though they weren't the stweetest strawberries, but oh well.

Days seem longer, since the sun goes down at 6PM and there's that spring feeling in the air that makes me in a really good mood!

Nice Is Nice.

First thing, I am obsessed with nail polishes, as much as I am with lipsticks. I wanted a lilac nail polish for so long, but I couldn't find the right shade anywhere. Until the other day.

I know that everyone loves Essie's nail polishes, but what stopped me from buying one of those was the price. I mean, 12€ for a nail polish is way too much, but then I said to myself: 'okay, you always wear nail polish and if it's a color that you often use, it will last you 2/3 years'. And I did it, I bought Nice Is Nice - the 'perfect lilac shade'. And let me tell you that it's pretty amazing.

I was a bit scared when I saw that it was so liquid, but it all went fine. It dries out quickly and I hope it'll last for at least a week! Oh, and those 12€ were well spent.

A Sweet Thing.

Mmmh, this thing was so yummy. I ate it right after I took the photo.

All you need is:

* Ice-cream (I used cream, but you can choose any flavors)

* Oreo

* Blueberries

Permanent Taupe.

I've always been a mascara & eyeliner type of person. Eyeshadows weren't my thing, until now. 

This is the Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr in Permanent Taupe. It has a cream-gel formula and you can easily apply it with your fingers (like I did).

At first, I thought it was brown, because well, it looks brown, but then, once I applied it, it turned out that it's grey with just a little bit of brown. I'll probably buy more of these eyeshadows!

PS: After I took this photo I applied eyeliner because without it I look like a lost puppy.

So, You Like to Take Pics, Uh?

I like photography. I like static images. I like the moment, and how I feel right before what I see through the viewfinder, will be captured in my camera. And I love the way photography forces me to see the world and not miss a single thing.

This is my response to Connor Franta's video, where he asks to people what they like the most. And I also loved a few words that he said: 'You don't have to be amazing to love doing something', which is true! Sometimes I'm too critical to myself and I think that I don't deserve to love something, since I'm not great at it. But reading it now, it makes no sense! Because -believe it or not- you can learn things, and no one has the right to tell you whether you can or can't love something because you're not the best at it.

The Importance of Objects.

A friend of mine lives in London, since 2013. We were in high school together, until our fourth year (we have five years of high school, here), because she failed her exam and then she decided to not repeat the year.

Since she moved to London, we met once, in February 2014, and needless to say that I miss her. 

We she came home, last February, she gave me this coin (20 pence) and I decided to create a little hole and pass a chain through it. Maybe to you may sound stupid, but this object means so much to me. In two weeks we will be reunited, and I am so so excited!

Your Face Is Your Canvas. #2

I've been editing photos of my face for hours. H-o-u-r-s.

Here it is: Your Face Is Your Canvas #2 (#1 here). 

*Face: La Roche-Posay Hydreane BB Cream Light; Maybelline Fit Me Concealer (15) and the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder (003 - peach glow) which I almost run out, by the way.

*Eyes: Maybelline Expert Wear Blush (60 - chestnut brown) as an eyeshadow because why not?; Maybelline Liner Express Eyeliner which is my favourite eyeliner since I was in my third year in high school, and the Rimmel Wonder'Full Mascara with argan oil. On my eyebrows I used the L'Oréal Paris Super Liner Brow Artiste Brunette.

Lips: the Deborah Milano Lipliner Pencil 01 and Rimmel Kate Lasting Finish Lipstick 03.

There hasn't been a single photo where I didn't look into the screen... Oh, well.

25 Random Facts About Me.

1. I love rain in summer and sun in winter;
2. I am completely addicted to coffee;
3. I have a guinea pig and a cat, and in the past I had another guinea pig and a few psychos cats;
4. My brother and I have 14 years of difference;
5. I attended a graphics school, but no, I can't create all those cool things that 'traditional' graphics usually do, because what I studied was more focused on advertising, so I know how to plan posters, magazine covers, etc. and how to play with words, fonts, etc. ..;
6. I'm obsessed with Harry Potter and I've been planning a tattoo with the symbol of Deathly Hallows for YEARS. I will do it, at some point;
7. My favourite movie is The Art of Getting By;
8. I've had so many different haircuts and the most 'tragic' has been the pixie cut. I kind of miss it;
9. I'm short-sighted (or near-sighted for Americans - this is what Wikipedia says!), I literally can see NOTHING without glasses. When I was in high school, I used to wear contacts every single day and I don't know how I could handle it - now I can't wear them for more than 3 hours because my eyes get dry and it's so annoying!

10. I love Venice so much. London is at first place, but the second place definetly belongs to Venice. I've been there 3/4 times and everytime I go there, I fall in love with that city more and more;
11. I always sing when I'm alone, and if I realize that someone is listening to me I panic a little bit;

13. I don't like summer, at all! 
14. I love love love mascara, maybe too much;
