Mini Drugstore Haul.

Thursday 29 January 2015

*Garnier Micellar Cleasing Water
*Garnier Pure Active Fruit Energy Daily Energising Gel Wash
*Rimmel Wonder'Full Mascara
*L'Oréal Paris Super Liner Brow Artiste Brunette
*Rimmel Salon Pro Nail Polish 'Stormy Skies'

It's been a while since the last beauty or whatever post!
I bought these few things a couple of days ago and I haven't tried them yet, except for the Rimmel Salon Pro Nail Polish 'Stormy Skies', which is on my nails since last Saturday, and it's the third of that range that I own - 'Urban Purple' and 'Chic and Cheerful' are already part of my nail polish collection. However, I love them because the product it's easy to apply, the color is bright, it lasts for at least one week and the price is reasonable considering how much product there is.
I'll probably try out the other products and tell you about them really soon.

Pen & Paper.

Sunday 25 January 2015

I've never been good at keeping a diary: it all starts with good intentions and then who knows. So, this year, I wanted to try something a little bit different: whenever I'm in the mood, I pick up a quote, write it down with a pen, pencil, marking pen or whatever, and then, in the back of that page, I'm going to write what has been on my mind that day.
Just a few words to create memories.

4 Products I Can't Live Without.

Saturday 24 January 2015
Micellar Cleasing Water with Rose Petals (click) - I've been using this product since June/July and now that it's come to its end, I'm pretty sad. I love this micellar water, it leaves your skin fresh and clean. I usually use this product on 'lazy evening', when I'm not in the right mood to do all the process to clean my skin. Plus, it has this rose scent that I personally love and, if you don't like rose scents, I don't recommend it, because it's really strong!

Vichy Normaderm Purifying Astringent Lotion - This green lotion, helps to tighten and unclog pores - and it really does! But I only use it on my nose and chin (the only two parts of my face too oily to get dry) because it tends to dry off my skin. However, I since I've started using this product, I can really see the difference and I just love it. In your face, pores!

Vichy Acqualia Thermal Rich - Now, I'm currently using this, but I can't live without a moisturizer in general. This one, is enriched with Vichy Thermal Spa Water and Hyaluronic Acid, and it assures 48 hours of protection. I don't know if the last part is true or possible, because I didn't have the chance to have this moisturizer for 48 hours on my face, but I can say that it keeps your skin protect for a long time. Even my mom tried it and she said that it's great, since she works in a pretty dusty place and, with dust, skin tends to dry off quickly.

Artègo Rain Dance Serum Oil (click - I'm pretty sure it's an italian brand, so I couldn't find it in english) - Since last month, I've never been into oils for hair that much, but when the hairdresser applied this on my hair, and I saw the result I said 'okay, I want it'. I only apply it on my hair tips and since I use it, I have really do noticed an improvement: soft and no-split ends. It's a miracle.

New Toy!

Wednesday 21 January 2015
After months, months, [...] & months, I did it: I bought my desired and beloved Canon.
It took me awhile to find this camera at a reasonable price. You can easily find it in stores, but the price is madness.
In the end, I did it. I ordered it on Amazon, last Saturday, and it arrived yesterday.
It's not the first reflex that I take in hand: I studied Photography for three years, in high school, and I had the opportunity to work with DSLRs (even though some of my ex classmates thought they were professional photographers already and they were the ones who always had in hands the only two cameras that the school owned)
These two poor lonely cameras were two old Canon EOS 20D and, one of them, was stolen by an idiot, apparently.
By the way, my ex Photography teacher was (and is... he's still alive, poor man) a Nikonist, so he was all no to Canon and he always said to us to follow 'his own path' and blah blah blah, but without telling us why. Thanks, man, very helpful.
So, I chose Canon (after much research, uh!)I have already started to use my new little baby and I'm more than happy with my choice. Now, I can put aside my old camera and start a new journey.

Sunday.

Sunday 18 January 2015

I know, I know: that sun looks like is made by a 5 year old child.

It's Sunday, the sun is shining and outside is pretty warm, even though we're only in January. I love winter, but after months and months of cold, crisp air, rain and mist, a bit of sun is a joy.

The City.

Monday 12 January 2015
1, 2, 34

Who doesn't dream to go or to live in New York? I hope this city will home, one day, even for a brief moment of my life.

Face Your Fears.

Sunday 11 January 2015
12

It's easier to run away from things, right? I'm one of those people scared of everything, and believe me when I say that sucks.
Yesterday evening, I hung out with my friends and I offered to drive. I'm not scared of driving - I've been driving for almost two years and I've found myself in many situations: snow, freakin' rain and sometimes mist. But I've never driven at night with a low mist that obscured EVERYTHING. I couldn't see at one meter from my car, it was insane.
I was so scared and after a few minutes of driving, I wanted to go back home. It was too much for me, and I've never faced a thing like that.
My best friend and another friend of mine were in the car with me (luckily) and I think they were more scared than I was - and they weren't even driving.
Anyway, I kept going, I said to myself to calm down (and I'm the most anxious person in the world) and that I could do it. After 40 minutes, I made it: the three of us arrived alive at our destination. The return home was less traumatic and the mist was less intense.

I've never felt so proud of myself as last night. I did something that thinking about it now I'm like 'how?'. I'm happy about the fact that I didn't go back, that I kept going.
Most of the time we think we can't do things, because we think they're too big for us and that they are impossible to do, but that is not true. They're not impossible, they're just not easy.
My dad always says to me 'try, until you succeed'.

Let's Dispel Some Myths...

Saturday 10 January 2015
* We do not eat pizza or pasta everyday. I'm not a huge fan of pasta, but I love pizza. And I wish I could eat it everyday,  but I don't, otherwise I'd be... huge;
* Italy IS NOT Venice, Florence, Milan or Rome. Believe it or not, there are other cities. And no, Milan is not the capital of Italy. That role is up to Rome;
* Not everyone has Neapolitan accent. Unless you're from Naples, which is in Campania, which is in South Italy;
* We're not all pizza makers - and those who are, are not necessarily Neapolitans;
* I've never seen a mandolin in my life;
* This is something that personally makes me freak out, because I am a coffee lover: this is coffee and this is a cappuccino, which has milk and coffee. And froth at the top;
* I don't like how people lump everything together. I know what they say about Italians and it's kind of true. But just because one is an idiot, that doesn't mean that everyone is.

A Day by the Sea.

Sunday 4 January 2015
I went to a mini-trip with the ones who created me (aka my parents) yesterday, and it was lovely and refreshing. The sea, in winter, has something different than the summer. And I love it.
With these photos I got out of my comfort zone and tried something a bit different. I wanted a film camera effect (if y'know what I mean) and I added a little bit of grain to simulate natural film grain. Hope you like it!

Sunday Catch-Up #8.

*I can't believe it's the 4th day of 2015. Actually, I can't believe it's 2015;
*Back in 2008, 14 years old me and 'hello, Jonas Brothers!' I was talking to my friend last day and we were reminiscing all the bands/singers we used to listen when we where younger... and this happend: I went to my CDs collection and it was there, A Little Bit Longer by the Jonas Brothers and o-m-g, the feels. I feel so old, I used to listen them when I was a child! And now I am kind of a granny;
*Start Somewhere are my two favourite words, at the moment.
